Tipp to Tail is independently owned, and has been for as long as we have existed. We are not part of a national pet care chain or a franchise, and we are not backed by a corporate group or an investment firm. We are owned by the same four people who have owned Tipp City Veterinary Hospital since 1980. Three of them run this campus day to day: two veterinarians and a managing director, all here in Tipp City.

When you leave your pet with us, here is what that ownership actually means.

  1. The people responsible are on site. Staffing levels, who works which shift, and how many animals one person looks after are decided here, by people who walk through these buildings every day. Those numbers are not set by a corporate operations team working from a spreadsheet in another state.
  2. We can say no. If we are full, we are full. We are not under pressure from anyone outside this campus to take more animals than we can properly care for, and that is a decision we get to make on our own.
  3. There is a veterinary hospital next door, under the same ownership. If something happens to your pet while they are with us, help is a short walk away, at a hospital owned by the same people who own the resort. Not a partner, not a vendor, not a preferred provider. The same people.
  4. You can reach someone who can actually decide. If something goes wrong, the owners work on this campus. You will not be routed to a regional office.
  5. The same faces. Independent ownership is one of the reasons our team stays, and a familiar handler who already knows your pet is not a small thing when you are leaving them for a week.

We are not going to tell you that corporate-owned facilities cannot do a good job. Plenty do. But we think you should know who you are handing your pet to, and who is accountable if something goes wrong. Here, that is the people whose names are on the business, and the three who run it work about a hundred feet from where your pet sleeps, stays, or plays.

The Hospital Next Door

Tipp City Veterinary Hospital has been independently owned since 1980 and is owned by the same people who own this resort. If you would like to read more about what that ownership means, or check it against an independent public directory of locally owned veterinary practices, their page explains it in full.
