Ben Spinks, CVPM
Managing Director
Ben Spinks temporarily (or so he thought) entered the veterinary industry in his current capacity in 2004. He planned on helping a veterinary practice “run some numbers” over the summer to delay his inevitable entry into the corporate world. That one summer stretched longer than he anticipated, and he’s been the Managing Director of Tipp City Veterinary Hospital and Tipp to Tail Pet Resort ever since.
Outside of his roles at TCVH, Ben helps businesses in the veterinary industry communicate effectively using video (Veteos) and helps organizations solve issues, maximize growth, and improve business performance (Branchworth).
Ben is a 2004 graduate of Miami University (B.Phil.), a 2014 graduate of Wright State University (MBA), and a 2021 graduate of the University of East London (PC-APPCP). Ben became CVPM certified through the VHMA in 2013 and SPHR certified through HRCI in 2018. He lives in Tipp City, Ohio, with his two pups, Finn and Juno, and cat, Oscar. Away from work, he enjoys traveling, reading, cycling, and spending time with family and friends. Most importantly, his favorite color is blue.

Q&A with Ben Spinks
Q: What part of your job to you find to be most interesting?
A: I love the variety of things that I’m able to work on. From coaching our staff and developing systems to wrangling IT issues and putting out occasional fires – there is never a dull day at TCVH! I love that new initiatives can move quickly from the planning stages to full implementation.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love being part of a team that’s passionate about their work. Across all levels of our practice – from our DVM’s and Vet Techs to our CSR’s and Pet Resort Team – almost everyone could make more money working in other industries. Our DVM’s could have chosen human medicine, our Vet Techs could be nurses or Physician Assistants, etc. Our team is here because they love the industry – it’s more than just a paycheck. That’s not something that you find everywhere. One other thing I love is being able to bring my dogs to work with me every day. It’s hard to get stressed out or have a bad day when their around. : )
Q: What causes or organizations are you passionate about?
A: Within the veterinary industry, the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) is really high on my list. I’ve benefited tremendously from my involvement in the organization. Their meetings are great, and I’ve been able to greatly expand my professional network. Outside of the vet industry, I love being involved with Pink Ribbon Girls. They’ve been a consulting client for many years, and I joined their national board in 2018. I’ve really enjoyed seeing them grow and witnessing the impact they have on so many people battling cancer.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A: I love to travel! Top destinations on my list right now include: Iceland, New Zealand, Japan, and Norway.
Q: If you only had one favorite food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Chicken Pad Thai!
